A dental crown is a protective cap that covers a tooth to restore its shape, size, and function. It’s often recommended for teeth that are cracked, heavily restored, worn down, or have undergone root canal therapy.
At Bridge Family Dental, our crowns are custom-made from high-quality materials such as porcelain or ceramic for long-lasting durability and natural aesthetics. We take precise digital impressions to ensure a comfortable fit and a result that blends seamlessly with your smile.
When is a crown recommended?
You may need a crown if you have:
-
A cracked or broken tooth
-
A large filling that compromises the remaining structure
-
A tooth weakened by decay or trauma
-
Cosmetic concerns such as misshapen or discoloured teeth
-
A tooth that has been treated with root canal therapy
Crowns are often the best way to preserve the remaining tooth structure while restoring full function and appearance.
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING TREATMENT
The crown process typically involves two appointments. At your first visit, we prepare the tooth and take a digital scan to create your custom crown. You’ll leave with a temporary crown to protect the tooth while your final crown is fabricated.
At your second appointment, we place the permanent crown, check your bite, and make small adjustments to ensure long-term comfort and function.
Once placed, your crown will feel natural and allow you to chew, speak, and smile with confidence.
